A Terminal Node Controller (TNC) interface and APRS decoder/encoder is provided by the Dire Wolf project, which is a software TNC. The QRUQSP Software uses the KISS TNC from Dire Wolf to received and transmit APRS packets.
Dire Wolf has many features that will be integrated with the QRUQSP software over time to provide additional enhancements in future releases. For example, it would be possible to configure Dire Wolf to listen on TCP port 8001 on the local LAN for use as a KISS TNC by other applications such as Xastir and APRSdroid.
Special thanks to the Dire Wolf APRS project for contributing such a valuable tool to the open source community, and to Bob Bruninga, WB4APR for creating the APRS Specification.
